Presentation of the book ’’Explanatory Dictionary of Agricultural Technology’’ was held

The presentation of the book ’’Explanatory Dictionary of Agricultural Technology’’ was held at the National Wine Agency, which was published with the authorship of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture. In the dictionary, there are more than 4000 new words/terminology that have existed in the agrarian sector over the last years. The guide is intended for Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctors of Agricultural Sciences, also for farmers and specialists working in this field.

The presentation of the book is presented by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili, Deputy Minister, Iuri Nozadze, Heads of Agencies under the Ministry, President of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences - Otar Kvesitadze, Vice-President Ramaz Khurodze, Academician Tengiz Urushadze, President of Farmers’ Association - Nino Zambakhidze, Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Georgian Agrarian University and other representatives of agrarian sector.

"Agricultural terminology has not been published for more than 50 years, during that time the field has been strengthened in different directions. Global changes in global climate, problems of globalization and the harmonization of Europe with new challenges in different fields of agrarian science, modern terms have emerged, that is why the agenda of the agrarian explanatory dictionary was put on the agenda’’ – remarked the Director of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture – Levan Ujmajuridze.

In addition to the new terms in the dictionary, traditional Georgian terms are maintained in the agrarian sector. The authors of the book are planning to release thematic dictionaries in the near future.
