Spanish wine experts visited Jighaura

Spanish wine experts and representatives of the Georgian-Spanish Center "Iberia" visited the demonstrative base of permanent crop research of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture in Jighaura. They viewed the collection site of the vineyard on the base, get acquainted with the history of Georgian viticulture and winemaking and tasted wines from rare vineyards.

It should be noted that in the collective plantation of Jighaura, there are 350 foreign and 437 Georgian varieties of vine, including a collection of unique and rare breeds of Georgian vine, whose search and recovery was going on for a long time. The Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture is conducting a research on wine making from rare grape varieties in parallel with restoration of grape varieties.

Spanish wine experts arrived in Georgia with the support of the Caucasus Trading House and conducted public lectures on bio wine production, European experience in technologies and new opportunities for export to Georgia.
