At the Jigaura base, a training was held for the representatives of the Ateni Gorge on vine pruning - formation

The field training was conducted for the representatives of the Ateni Gorge on the pruning-formation of vines at the Jigaura Perennial Crop’s experimental-demonstration base of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture within the framework of the project of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The participants got information on the characteristics of vine varieties, nursery certification and healthy seedling production processes, vineyard agro-technology, soil selection and proper rootstock use, selection of vine varieties for the regions and planting rules.

Levan Ujmajuridze, the director of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, introduced the farmers to the activities of the center, the existing projects in the field of viticulture and winemaking and the rules of vineyard formation. The participants of the training took part in the formation of the vineyard and received information on issues of interest to them.
