Representatives of the World Bank mission visited Jighaura base
With the purpose to get acquainted with the activities of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture and to plan joint projects, the representatives of the World Bank Mission visited the Jighaura testing- demonstrative base of perennial crops.The vineyards and orchards planted on the basis of Jighaura were inspected and information about the current works was provided by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Iuri Nozadze and by the Director of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, Levan Ujmajuridze to the head of World Bank’s Rural and Agricultural Sector in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the South Caucasus, Frauke Youngblutt. An exhibition was organized for the guests, where they were introduced to endemic varieties of Georgian wheat, products of storage and processing, Georgian scientific literature and wines made from Georgian varieties of vines.
For further cooperation with the World Bank, the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture has developed working versions of several projects that the parties will consider in the future.
