Otar Shamugia held a working meeting at the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture
The Minister of Environmental
Protection and Agriculture Otar Shamugia got acquainted with the report of the
ongoing projects at the meeting held at the Scientific-Research Center of
Agriculture. The participants of the meeting discussed the future plans of the
Scientific-Research Center, the implementation of the budget of the current
year and forecasting budget issues of 2023.
The director of the Center, Levan
Ujmajuridze, spoke about the projects, which are carried out in order to
perfect the system of certification
of seeds and planting materials, search-identification-restoration-conservation
of local genetic resources of plants and animals, living collections, DNA
researches, Genebank, also on the projects which are connected with creation of
breeding nuclei, storage-processing of grapes and other agricultural products,
soil fertility, organic farming, integrated
plant protection, veterinary, eco-physiology, etc.
At the meeting, the Minister
emphasized that the role of the scientific-research carried out by the Center
and the obtained theoretical results are important for the development of the
country's agrarian sector, for which it is necessary to cooperate closely with
the private sector, share the received results and implement them in practice.
Giorgi Khanishvili and Iuri
Nozadze, Deputy Ministers of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, attended
the meeting held at the Scientific-Research center.
