Tasting of wines made from Megruli and Guruli grape varieties was held in Jighaura

A tasting of wines made from rare varieties of Megruli and Guruli grapevines was held at the perennial crops experimental-demonstration base of the LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture. The event was chaired by Davit Chichua, head of the Center’s viticulture and winemaking research division.

The tasting team was represented by representatives of the wine club and students of viticulture and winemaking.

22 research white and red samples made on the basis of micro-vinification were presented for tasting, which the commission evaluated according to their color, taste properties and chemical characteristics.

The varieties: Chvitiluri, Kundza, Jani, Kamuri, Paneshi, Koloshi were especially popular.

It should be noted that in order to popularize wines made from rare grape varieties and return them to the industrial market, working tastings are constantly being held in the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture.
