The managers of the Spanish Agricultural Companies met with the representatives of the Scientific- Research Center of Agriculture

The managers of the Spanish agricultural technology companies visited the Tsilkani and Jighaura experimental-demonstration bases of the LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize with the technologies used in agriculture, including wireless connections.

Among the members of the delegation was ,,Libelium’’, a world leader in the field of wireless sensor devices, which is working on the creation of smart agriculture systems (Smart Agriculture Solution).

The delegation held a meeting with the representatives of the research division of Vegetable Crops and Melon Cultures and with the representatives of the laboratory of the Micro-clonal (In-Vitro) Propagation of Plants and Virus-free Planting Material, where attention was focused on sharing information, arranging trainings and developing joint projects.

At the end of the visit, the director of the Scientific-Research Center Levan Ujmajuridze hosted the Spanish side at the Jighaura perennial crops’ experimental-demonstration base, introduced the main directions of the center's activities, ampelographic collection and wines made from rare Georgian grapevines.

On June 21-22, the delegation was in Georgia on a trade mission and they were led by the Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Spanish Embassy in Ankara, Guillermo Kessler.
