Professors and students of the Faculty of Mountain Sustainable Development of the Technical University of Georgia visited the experimental-demonstration base of Jighaura at the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture

The guests viewed a unique collection of Georgian and foreign grape varieties, got acquainted with the agro-techniques of vines and fruit trees, disease forecasting and prevention measures.

Zurab Khidesheli, Head of the Department of Integrated Plant Protection of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, informed the students about the activities of the virology laboratory, immune-enzymatic (ELISA) and molecular (PCR) diagnosis methods of plant viral and bacterial diseases.

The Faculty of Sustainable Mountain Development at the Technical University of Georgia is newly opened and aims to teach students the principles of managing mountain organic farms, tourism and rural development.

In order to find and involve young personnel in agriculture, meetings with students, schoolchildren and other interested persons are regularly held at the bases of the Scientific- Research Center of Agriculture.
