Women Farmers visited Jighaura Base, organized by the Ministry of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara

The representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and female farmers visited the experimental-demonstration base of perennial crops of Jighaura of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture within the framework of the agro tour. The guests viewed the collection of vines and fruit trees at the base, learned about the activities of the center and tasted wines made from rare grape varieties.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara is focused on implementing programs that are tailored to the needs of farmers as much as possible. Women farmers who are engaged in active production in various directions of agriculture were involved in agro-tour. The purpose of the agro tour was to familiarize ourselves with the technologies implemented in modern industrial gardens and to focus on the needs of our local farmers," said Irma Abkhazava, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.

Within the framework of the agro tour, in addition to the trial-demonstration base of perennial crops of Jighaura, women farmers visited the tea processing plant and the berry crops’ cold storage farm.
