A meeting was held with the representatives of ICARDA at the Tsilkani Base of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture

Nodar Khatiashvili, Deputy Director of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, met with the representatives of the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA). At the meeting, the priority areas of cooperation between the center and ICARDA in terms of agricultural science were determined.

Akmal Akramkhanov, Regional Manager of ICARDA in Uzbekistan, together with the members of the delegation, visited the laboratory of the Research Division for Standards and Certification of Seeds and Planting Materials and got acquainted with the main directions of the laboratory's work.

Since 1975, the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA), has been conducting research and development programs in 50 countries of the dry zones of the world. The center unites research institutes and scientific centers of the Caucasus, Minor, Eastern and Central Asia. The organizations united in the network are supplied with improved breeding material from the mentioned international breeding centers, represented by hybrid forms brought to pure lines and promising genotypes. In order to obtain a new variety, special importance is attached to the variety of selection-initial material, their study, selection and testing of the best for the region.

The meeting was attended by Tamar Jinjikhadze, Head of the Division of Standartization, Certification, Planning and Economic Analysis and Tsotne Samadashvili, the Head of Cereal Crops Research Division.
