The Scientists of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture have completed a training course on molecular marking in Poland

The Scientists of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture in Katowice, Poland, completed a regional training course on molecular marking and soil management techniques for crop improvement.

The scientists learned about the factors of plant domestication, the role of mutagenesis in the process of breeding new varieties, the technology of DNA and RNA sequencing, the process of obtaining new varieties and variations using radioactive irradiation, genetic modification methods and gene editing methods, and other issues. The training course consisted of both theoretical and practical - laboratory work and part of studying the use of online genetic databases.

The training course was held at the University of Silesia within the framework of the international project of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) "Adopting improved plant varieties adapted to environmental change in Europe and Central Asia". The scientists from 13 countries of the world took part in the course.
