Training was held for students in Jighaura

Training was held for students of agronomy and viticulture-winemaking educational programs on the topic of pruning and forming of grapevines at the experimental-demonstration base of perennial crops of the LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture.

The training participants got acquainted with information about the characteristics of grape varieties, the processes of nursery certification and healthy seedling production, vineyard agro-technology, soil selection and the use of the correct rootstock, as well as the right selection of grape varieties for regions and seedling planting rules. The participants of the training took part in the pruning and shaping of the vineyard.

"The Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, in parallel with scientific-research works, in order to promote the professional development of young people, actively cooperates with higher education institutions and student organizations. The presence of more knowledgeable and professional personnel in the sector will contribute to the development of agriculture in the country. Conducting trainings on various topics of interest to students will be actively continued in the future," said Levan Ujmajuridze, Director of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture.

Levan Ujmajuridze, the Director of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, introduced the activities of the Center and the existing projects in the field of viticulture and winemaking to future agronomists and winegrowers.
