The members of the Eco Club visited the laboratory base of Tsilkani

The Laboratory of Micro-clonal (IN VITRO) Propagation of Plants and Virus-Free Planting Material Research Division of Tsilkani of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture hosted the students of Eco Club of Sarek Public School of Sachkhere Municipality.

Eco Club is a union of excellent students and teachers of the same school, which provides the development of practical and theoretical skills for students by planning and implementing certain activities in order to raise the awareness of environmental protection and ecological responsibility.

The head of the laboratory, Tekla Zakalashvili, introduced the goals of the laboratory, the principles of its work, the specifics of the in vitro propagation of cultures according to the protocol written as a result of research, to the members of the Eco Club. Eco Club members visited the greenhouse at the base of Tsilkani, where the acclimatization and tuberization process of in vitro potato plants is underway to obtain virus-free seed material.

It is worth noting that Eco group members participate in the project "Niko Ketskhoveli School Award 2024" initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the purpose of which is to support environmental education and civic engagement and raise awareness among young people about the goals of sustainable development.
