Training was held for students at Jighaura Base

The students of the Bachelor and Master programs of viticulture and winemaking of Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University visited the Jighaura base of perennial crops of LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture.

Levan Ujmajuridze, the director of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, introduced the future winegrowers and winemakers to the Center's activities and current scientific research projects in the direction of viticulture and winemaking, grape varieties and their characteristics, peculiarities of the arrangement of the vineyard area and agro-technology of the vineyard, the need for certification and the specifics of healthy seedling production.

The students tasted wines made from rare grape varieties grown on the base and talked about the organoleptic characteristics of wine. It should be noted that within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture and Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University, students of all three levels of viticulture and winemaking educational programs are given the opportunity to improve their professional skills in the center's experimental-demonstration bases and laboratories.
