Experts from Israel conducted trainings on modern issues of agricultural production

The training was conducted by Yuval Elazar and Daniel Hadid, experts from Mashavi Shvaim Agricultural Training Center in Israel. The two-day training was attended by the employees of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, representatives of the Information-Consulting Centers of the Rural Development Agency, and farmers.

The training included both theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part discussed the relevance of hydroponics, i.e. agricultural production without soil; types and characteristics of hydroponic systems; advantages and disadvantages of their use; The training participants received detailed information about the technical characteristics and materials necessary for the arrangement and operation of hydroponic systems, as well as the conditions necessary for growing vegetable crops in these systems.

The training was held within the framework of the joint program of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture and MASHAV.

In the practical part of the training, a visit was made to the research-demonstration greenhouse set up by MASHAV, the International Cooperation Development Agency of Israel, at the Tsilkani base of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, where the participants of the training got to know in detail the principles and mechanisms of the hydroponic system presented here.

It should be noted that with the financing of the Israeli Embassy, within the framework of the MASHAV program of the International Cooperation Development Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, in 2023, a greenhouse of modern technologies (hydroponics) was organized at the Tsilkani base of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture.

The goal of the long-term cooperation project between the two countries is to establish a demonstration hub in the region, where agronomists and experts from Israel, Georgia and neighboring countries will be able to share knowledge and experience, train students and interested farmers.
