Training on organic production issues was held at the Tsilkani base of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture

It was noted that in order to strengthen the capabilities of organic farming and promote the development of ecologically sustainable agriculture, it is important to deepen agroecological knowledge and develop practical skills.
The participating farmers, representatives of the Rural Development Agency's advisory service, agricultural students, and other interested parties learned about the basic principles of mixed crop planning, the ecological and agronomic benefits of fusion of cultures, the role of allelopathic plants, biological pest management and soil rehabilitation, as well as strategies for rational use of space.
The training discussed optimal models of intercropping that contribute to ecosystem sustainability, biodiversity preservation, and increased agricultural productivity without the use of chemicals.
As part of the practical part of the training, working groups of participants presented real examples of allelopathic plant selection and mixed crop planning. At the end of the training, participants visited the trial plots at the Tsilkani base.
LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture regularly conducts trainings, workshops, and organizes demonstration and field days to share theoretical and practical knowledge with farmers, which contributes to the development of sustainable and innovative agriculture in the country.
