A working meeting was held on the development of viticulture and winemaking in Meskheti.

A working meeting on the development of Meskhetian vines and wine was held in the village of Ude, Adigeni Municipality, which was attended by Levan Ujmajuridze, Director of the LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture.The meeting focused on raising awareness of local Meskhetian grape varieties and modern challenges in the sector. Special attention was paid to the importance of establishing an association of winegrowers and winemakers, which in the future will contribute to the expansion of the raw material base for Meskhetian wine production, as well as its development and popularization. The meeting was attended by representatives of the National Wine Agency, clergy and local farmers. The activity was carried out within the framework of the Caucasus Regional Environmental Center (REC) project “Sustainable Management of Agrobiodiversity in Vulnerable Ecosystems and Rural Settlements of the Samtskhe-Javakheti Region”, the scientific support of which is provided by the Scientific-Research Center.
