,,I believe that Georgian wine will conquer the world’’ – the world’s famous mountaineer Reinhold Messner visited Jigaura base

The famous mountaineer, adventurer, explorer and author Reinhold Messner visited at the demonstrative plot of LEPL Scientific-Research center of Agriculture –Jigaura. The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Iuri Nozadze and the director of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, Levan Ujmajuridze made a tour for a guest with the purpose of sightseeing the vineyards and fruit collections.

,,I have confessed that I have heard about Georgian wine before coming here. I came at the first possibility I was amazed that bare original called south Italian wine I am not from south Italia, but North Italia. I myself make a lit bit of wine but now I believe that wine catches from Georgia and it spread all over the world. You have great potential and great culture in wine and I am sure you wine conquer the world. I like classical red wine sometime a lit bit white wine. Red wine is my favorite, it is strong, not sweet, not changed any tracks’’, – noted Reinhold Messner.

Reinhold Messner arrived in Georgia to get acquainted with the potential of mountain resorts in Georgia. In the 1980s, the world’s famous alpinist made the first ascent of Mountain Everest without supplement of oxygen, he was the first one who cross Antarctica, Greenland and Gobi’s desert. He has published more than 80 books in which he describes his journeys and adventures.
