Determination of the qualification of nursery farming is underway

The representatives of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture visited the nursey farms in Kakheti region to determine their compliance with international standards.

After determination of the qualification, the nursery farm will be able to be involved in the certification process, which is voluntary and the Scientific –Research center of Agriculture makes it without payment.

Based on the application made in the division of standardization and certification of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture and based on the results of Filed Inspection and Laboratory Analysis (Viruses, Soil ) conducted by specialists of the above-mentioned Center, a certificate certifying the quality of the planting material is issued.

The representatives of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture visited about 50 nurseries in almost every region of Georgia.

The certification process of the planting material regulates the law about ,, Access and Seed-growing of the Agricultural Cultures’ Varieties for Distribution and Subject to Compulsory Certification’’. The law entered into force on June 1, 2017 and regulates relations related to production, processing, certification, realization, traceability and localization and regulates imported seeds and relationships related to the material.
