The Scientific-Consulting Group was created to fight against Brown Marmorated Stink Bug
According to the decision of the Minister of Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili, LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture will actively be involved in the process of working on the methods of the pest destruction with the purpose to increase the efficiency of measures to fight against Brown Marmorated Stink Bug.Based on this, a scientific-advisory group has been created to fight against harmful organisms, which should examine the issues of bringing biological enemy against Brown Marmorated Stink Bug in order to share the experience of other countries in this direction and to apply for Georgia’s terms. According to the decision of the Ministry of Agriculture, the biological laboratory will be arranged at the Soil and Food Diagnostic Center in the village Anaseuli, Ozurgeti municipality, where scientists will work on the above mentioned issues.
In the working-consulting group the specialists of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, National Food Agency, National Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Georgia and Georgian Agrarian University are jointly working. The group is headed by the director of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, Levan Ujmajuridze.
The meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture was attended by the President of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Guram Aleksidze and the Director of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, Levan Ujmajuridze, Deputy Chief of National Food Agency Zurab Lipartia and by the representatives of the relevant services of the Ministry of Agriculture.
