The project "Development of Innovative Methods in Organic Viticulture’’ in Georgia" has ended

The project of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture ’’Development of Innovative Methods in Organic Viticulture in Georgia" was implemented by the financial support of Shota Rustaveli Georgian National Science Foundation. The aim of the project is to conduct complex studies to study the interaction of vine, soil, climate and agro technique, increase the economic efficiency of the vineyard sector, protect the biodiversity, popularize biomedical products and supply them to farmers.

The project has been in operation since 2016 and it has been worked out in Georgia for the first time in Bio-Grape Production Scheme. To facilitate the development of organic viticulture, the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture carried out research in two distinctly different climatic regions - Kakheti and mountainous Adjara. Bio-preparation "Bentonite" was created jointly by the Center and Organic Chemistry Institute, which led to great interest in bio-viticulture.

The number of trainings and conferences were held in the framework of the project "Developing Innovative Methods in Organic Viticulture" in order to improve the level of knowledge of farmers. There were also published several brochures about bio-production and about the measures to combat pests.
