The Uzbek delegation visited the Soil Research Laboratory

In the Soil Research Laboratory of the LEPL Scientific Research Center of Agriculture, the members of the delegation of the State Institute of Science and Planning of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan "Uzdavyerloyiha" were on a working visit.

Zaur Chankselian, head of the Soil Fertility Research Division, introduced the functions and current activities of the laboratory to the Uzbek guests.

At the meeting, Tamar Jolokhava, a scientist of the Soil Research Laboratory, spoke about the variety of soils of Georgia, the issues of managing its fertility, and drew attention to the importance of the laboratory in the process of evaluating soil for agricultural activities based on research, developing recommendations for measures to improve its fertility.

Within the framework of the visit, the guests visited the Soil Research Laboratory named after Ivane Sarishvili, get acquainted with the ongoing work, which is being carried out taking into account the methodologies developed by the Joint Research Center (JRC) of the European Commission and the Secretariat for International Soil Cooperation (GSP) of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
