Mukhuri beekeeping Trial Base hosted schoolchildren

The schoolchildren of the first public school of Lesichine of Chkhorotsku Municipality, together with their teachers, visited the Mukhuri beekeeping trial base of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture. The purpose of the visit was to see the beekeeping complex and learn about current research.

In the spring, schoolchildren learned about methods for assessing the condition of bees, clinical signs of disease detection, selection of drugs necessary for treatment and rules for their use, as well as methods for identifying and correcting previously motherless families.

Within the framework of the visit, the students also visited the morphological and exterior research laboratory. Lali Chikovani, the representative of the laboratory, spoke to the guests about the specifics of the laboratory, the principles of work, the results of current and completed research.

In addition to theoretical knowledge, the schoolchildren gained a little practical experience in the process of preparation of preparations and the external signs determining the variety. At the end of the visit, the guests tasted the honey of Mukhuri beekeeping base.

It should be noted that since its establishment in 2017, the Mukhuri beekeeping base of the LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture actively participates in the organization of regular free trainings for the training and education of beekeepers-farmers, attracting and training young staff and involving them in the agricultural field.
