Zviad Bobokashvili, head of the Fruit-growing Research Division of the LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, took part in an international scientific conference online

An international scientific conference on the topic - "Ensuring sustainable agriculture through global climate change mitigation and adaptation" was held.

The scientific presentation prepared by the researchers of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture L. Ujmajuridze, Z. Bobokashvili, N. Shengelia, L. Tsigriashvili and E. Maglakelidze was presented on the conference - "Georgian Hazelnut Production Facing Climate Change - Expected Impacts and Mitigation Approaches". The report aroused great interest of the listeners.

More than 200 scientists and researchers from 30 countries presented their reports at the relevant sessions of the conference. There was a discussion and reasoning on such topical issues as improvement of global climate change prediction models, modern possibilities of using robotics in fruit growing, improvement of resource-saving irrigation technologies, new methodologies of selection works for obtaining adaptive varieties, etc.

The scientific conference ended with a panel discussion, where the conference participants discussed aspects of practical application of specific proposed scientific measures to mitigate global climate change.
