More than 60 participants attended a two-day thematic training held at the Jighaura base of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture

A two-day training on the theoretical principles of vine pruning and formation, pruning rules and deadlines was held at the Jighaura Perennial Crops Base of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture. The training was led by Levan Ujmajuridze, Director of Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, and Tekle Zakalashvili and Jaba Abaishvili, viticulture specialists of the center.

Within the framework of the training, wine-grower-viticulturist farmers, extension employees, students and other interested parties received theoretical and practical knowledge and advice on vineyard cultivation, pruning and formation, major vine diseases, agro-technological, phytosanitary and other issues of interest to them.

"In parallel with the ongoing scientific and research work at the experimental and demonstration bases of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, thematic seminars-trainings of a theoretical and practical nature, demonstration days are regularly held. Such events serve to improve the practical skills of farmers, as well as other interested persons, deepen the knowledge of young personnel and contribute to their better professional activities," - said Levan Ujmajuridze.

After completing the theoretical part of the training, the participants moved to the vineyard plot, participated in the process of pruning various forms of vines, and received comprehensive answers to questions of interest to them.
