Turkish specialists paid a working visit to the Anaseuli laboratory

The representatives of the Plant Protection Sector of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey visited the Adam Beridze Integrated Soil, Food and Plant Protection Center of the LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture.

The Director of the Center, Levan Ujmajuridze, introduced the guests to the various research and practical activities taking place in the Center's laboratory. It is noteworthy that the laboratory is equipped with all the necessary equipment, entomological cages, special boxes of level II - - automatic climate control necessary for insect reproduction, where research is underway to detect biological agents of the Asian pheasant and other pests.

The guests toured the laboratory complex, learned about the work process and the experience of Georgian specialists.

The Turkish side emphasized that an integrated approach to the fight against the Brown Marmorated Sting Bug represents a strong foundation for deepening cooperation between Georgia and Turkey. The working meeting was attended by Zurab Lipartia, Deputy Head of the National Food Agency, Nikoloz Meskhi, Head of the Agency's Plant Protection Department, Ioseb Basilia, Director of the Adam Beridze Integrated Soil, Food and Plant Protection Center and laboratory specialists.
