A representative of the Center's Virology Laboratory participated in an international conference held in Portugal

Iveta Megrelishvili, Head of the Virology Laboratory of the LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, participated in an international scientific conference held in Coimbra, Portugal.

The conference was organized within the framework of a four-year project funded by the European Cooperation in Science (COST) - "European Network for Innovative Woody plant Cloning".

The Center's Virology Laboratory is actively involved in this project, and Iveta Megrelishvili has been elected as a member of the Management Committee (MC Member), which is an important recognition of the international involvement in the research component of the Center.

At the conference, which was attended by researchers from 23 countries, Iveta Megrelishvili gave a presentation on the topic: "Detection of the pathogen Xanthomonas campestris, which causes bacterial blight of hazelnuts, in Georgia."

The report presented information about the scientific work being carried out at the center in the field of plant disease detection and research. During the presentation, the participants also heard about the practical experience and achievements of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, which aroused great interest among the scientists present.

"European Network for Innovative Woody plant Cloning" (COPYTREE) - Similar projects promote cooperation, knowledge sharing, and joint development of innovative ideas between European and Central Asian countries.
