Levan Ujmajuridze: "The return of unique Georgian grape varieties to practice means the stable development of the sector"

The event aimed to introduce the public to the unique Georgian grape varieties that are preserved in Jighaura collection vineyard and represent different regions of viticulture. Wines made from 12 local red and white grape varieties were selected for tasting, the enological characteristics and distribution potential of which were introduced to the attendees by David Chichua, Head of the Viticulture and Winemaking Research Division.
Levan Ujmajuridze provided the audience with information about the projects of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, which serve the search, restoration, selection, collective protection of Georgian grape varieties, and their integration into modern production based on scientific and practical research.
The event, attended by Georgian and foreign wine specialists and interested parties, was held in a question-and-answer format and continued with an active discussion of the topic. The Scientific-Research Center will systematically hold meetings of this format.
