Employees of the Scientific-Research Center in Shaumiani got acquainted with the bioproduction process on site

In order to monitor and evaluate the ongoing processes of organic farming and issue recommendations for organic farming, Gocha Tsereteli, Head of the Organic Farming Division of the LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture and Givi Tsilosani, Senior Specialist, visited the village of Shaumiani, Marneuli Municipality.

The visit was carried out within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Scientific-Research Center and Ltd Kaldea, which aims to promote the development of organic agriculture and share knowledge with the private sector. The cooperation is based on a common vision - ecologically sustainable development of the agricultural sector and protection of local biodiversity.

More than 100 hectares of land owned by Ltd Kaldea were used for the first time this year for the production of ecologically clean agricultural products.

The center's specialists assessed the agrobiological and phytosanitary status of major agricultural crops on site and discussed the potential for further development.

Organic farming is a key mechanism for the development of ecologically clean, sustainable agriculture in the country, which ensures the production of safe products, compliance with environmental standards, as well as improving the well-being of the rural population. This is precisely the goal served by the intensive involvement of the employees of the Center's Organic Farming Division in the activities of organic farmers, which includes providing consultations, technological advice, and practical support.

The Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture will continue to actively cooperate with local farmers and initiative entrepreneurs, which will further contribute to the establishment and strengthening of eco-farms.
