Representatives of the Master's Program in ,,Food Science’’ visited the Jighaura and Tsilkani scientific bases

During the visit to Jighaura, which aims to deepen practical experience for master's program students, the Director of the Center, Professor Levan Ujmajuridze, introduced the guests in detail to the main directions of the Center's activities - including the protection of plant and animal genetic resources, the current state of grapevine, fruit tree agroforestry, annual crop collective plantations, management, selection work, certification processes, variety traceability systems, innovative approaches to addressing problems caused by climate change, and other issues.In order to get acquainted with the modern laboratory infrastructure and assess employment opportunities, the guests visited the Molecular Marking (DNA) and Prof. Ivane Sarishvili Soil Research Laboratories at the Tsilkani Selection Base, where they were introduced to ongoing scientific projects and modern laboratory research methods.
The guests toured the collection, motherland and nursery plots, the vine and wine museum space and tasted samples of wine made at the center from rare Georgian grape varieties.
The Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, through such collaborations, contributes to the convergence of academic and scientific spaces, the development of future young professionals, and the creation of a favorable environment.
