Visit of a German scientist to the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture

The German scientist was thoroughly acquainted with the ongoing research and work process of the departments of viticulture and winemaking, plant ecophysiology, and microclonal (in vitro) propagation.
The meeting, which was attended by the heads of the Center's scientific research departments and scientific staff, discussed modern challenges in the field of viticulture and winemaking: protection of the gene pool, the impact of climate change on grapevine culture, disease and pest management, selection of phylloxera-resistant rootstocks, clonal selection and other important issues. They also discussed the importance and future prospects of international scientific cooperation, which contributes to the sharing of knowledge and innovations.
The Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture attaches great importance to organizing such visits and will continue to collaborate with international institutes, including the Geisenheim Research Institute, which is one of the Centre’s oldest partners in the field of viticulture and winemaking.
