The Director of Scientific-Research Center participated in the Global Forum on "Green Agriculture" held in Budapest

Levan Ujmajuridze, Director of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, participated in the Global Forum on Green Agriculture and the 2nd Regional Week of Science and Innovation in Europe and Central Asia, held in Budapest, capital of Hungary, Budapest, with the invitation of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

"Within the framework of the forum and meetings, the main issues were to discuss the challenges in the agricultural sector related to global climate change, biodiversity preservation, reduction and decarbonization of degraded soil areas, expansion of the implementation of integrated pest control systems, maximum reduction of pesticide use and greenhouse gases, increase in the production of organic preparations and composts, widespread dissemination of digital, climate-smart technologies, maximum involvement of youth in events, implementation of national and international programs, and increase in financial instruments," said Levan Ujmajuridze, Director of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture.

During the visit, Levan Ujmajuridze met with Viorel Gutu, Deputy Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Regional Representative for Europe and Asia, and Raimund Jehle, Leader of Regional Programs. The meeting focused on projects implemented in Georgia under the auspices of FAO, as well as future activities that will contribute to the expansion of “green agriculture” in the country.

In parallel with participating in the forum, Levan Ujmajuridze visited the Hungarian Institute of Agriculture and Food Economics and also visited the exhibition space based on modern digital technologies and traditional organic farms.
