The Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture signed a Memorandum with the Agricultural Institute of North Macedonia
The Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Agriculture of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of the Republic of North Macedonia. The document was signed by the Director of the Institute, Professor Dr. Dushko Nedelkovski, and the Director of the Center, Professor Dr. Levan Ujmajuridze.
"The Memorandum aims to deepen scientific, educational and research cooperation in the field of agriculture and rural development. The agreement envisages joint research, exchange of scientific publications, short-term personnel exchange programs, mutual participation in international conferences and symposia, as well as the introduction of modern research methods and knowledge sharing in the field of agriculture," - said Levan Ujmajuridze, Director of the LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture.
The parties noted that cooperation will promote the development of innovative research, knowledge exchange, and strengthening of modern agro-scientific directions, which will significantly enrich the experience and scientific potential of both countries.
During the visit, the representatives of North Macedonia visited the laboratory base of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture in Tsilkani, where they got acquainted with the Tissue Culture (In-Vitro) Laboratory, Soil Fertility Research Laboratory and Certification Laboratory. The heads of the laboratories introduced the guests in detail to the ongoing research and achievements.
The guests also visited the Jighaura base, where they toured the collection vineyard and got acquainted with the diversity of local grape varieties. In the vine and wine exhibition space, the director of the Center, Levan Ujmajuridze, provided the guests with information about the history, traditions, and cultural values of the development of Georgian viticulture and winemaking.
