The representatives of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture participated in the agricultural technology training program held in China

The representatives of the LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, Chief Specialist of the Viticulture and Winemaking Research Division Nikoloz Kirvalidze, and Specialist of the Tea and Subtropical Crops Research Service Nika Guntadze, participated in the International Agricultural Technology Training Program, which was held in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, the People's Republic of China, as well as in Beijing and Yantai, on November 2–20, 2025. The program was organized and funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, the Ministry of Commerce, the Chinese Embassy, and the Hubei Vocational College of Bio-Technology.

The main goal of the visit was to strengthen cooperation between Georgia and China, introduce modern technologies and innovative approaches to the agricultural sector, share practical experience and promote the development of the sector. The program included both theoretical training and practical work and touched upon a wide range of agricultural directions, technological development trends, organic farming, precision and robotic agriculture, hydroponics, wine and alcoholic beverage production technologies, cryopreservation and modern approaches to mechanization.

During the training, participants had the opportunity to tour research laboratories, greenhouse and livestock farms, monitoring and evaluation infrastructure, and personally learn about modern practices implemented in China's agricultural sector.

Nikoloz Krivalidze and Nika Guntadze made presentations to the Chinese side on the Georgian agricultural system, the activities of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture and current research directions. Special attention was paid to the cultural and technological significance of Georgian viticulture and winemaking, the unique technology of Qvevri wine and the diversity of the country's indigenous varieties. The tasting of rare Georgian varieties aroused significant interest and contributed to the deepening of professional and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

A 14-member delegation from agencies subordinate to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia participated in the training program.

The Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture will continue to strengthen international partnerships and implement modern technologies in practice, which will ensure the development of Georgian agriculture.
