A working meeting on the development of the Farm Management System (FMS) was held at the LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture. The meeting was attended by Nodar Khatiashvili, Deputy Director of the Center, specialists from the Research Department of Livestock Breeding and Food Production, representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and international consultant Manon Schuppers.
The meeting discussed the digital process of selective certification (Breeding Certificate), the integration of productivity and genetic data, the synchronization of farm data between the NAITS-FMS systems, the data flow necessary for the conservation of local breeds, as well as new functionalities and work stages planned for 2025-2026.
The meeting emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation so that the FMS system fully complies with both national requirements and EU standards. This initiative will significantly strengthen the capabilities of the Scientific-Research Center in the areas of selection, data recording and research activities.
"Our goal is to quickly develop a modern, efficient and transparent farm management system in Georgia. Through this cooperation, we are creating not only a technical platform, but also a foundation for modern agricultural research and healthy agriculture," - noted Nodar Khatiashvili.
According to international consultant Manon Schuppers, the development of a farm management system will help bring Georgia's agriculture closer to international standards, support the protection of local breeds and introduce modern sustainable management practices.
