The representatives of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture visited the ,,Swiss Agricultural School Caucasus"

Levan Ujmajuridze, Director of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, along with representatives from the Livestock Breeding Department, met with Mikho Svimonishvili, the Director of the professional school ,,Swiss Agricultural School Caucasus’’ in Dmanisi Municipality.During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation and challenges in the livestock sector, as well as issues related to the research and implementation of a breed traceability system within the framework of breeding activities. The discussion covered the establishment of breed traceability systems in farming enterprises, the strengthening of breeding activities, and the potential for deepening future cooperation with the school in terms of addressing staff shortages and enhancing education. Areas of cooperation were defined, including the implementation of joint projects, the organization of training sessions, and issues related to the development of the livestock feed base. The representatives of the Scientific-Research Center toured the school's infrastructure, training and educational spaces, the dairy processing facility created within the professional education program, the school-owned educational-demonstration livestock farm, the Kakhetian pig farm, and other facilities. The parties discussed the possibility of establishing a Kakhetian pig breeding nucleus at the school with the support of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, which will contribute to the preservation and promotion of local breeds' genetic resources. The meeting was attended by Nodar Khatiashvili, Deputy Director of the LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, the scientific staff from the Livestock Breeding Department and representatives of the ,,Swiss Agricultural School Caucasus’’.
