Cooperation with China is going deeper in the field of winemaking and viticulture

Georgian unique vine grape sorts will be cultivated in China, Ninxia Province, for the purpose of a deeper cooperation between Republics of Georgia and China in viticulture and wine-making fields, and for the popularization of Georgian grape varieties and wine.

Representatives of wine industry from Ninxia province discussed the mentioned topics with Deputy of Agriculture Minister – Iuri Nozadze, Director of scientific-research center – Levan Ujmajuridze and Chairman of the Georgian wine agency – George Samanishvili at the meeting.

The members of delegation were interested in methods of Georgian wine and kvevri wine. They visited Georgian wine companies and vineyards in Kakheti region.

The investments from China have recently increased cosiderably, especially in Agriculture sector. Georgia has the oldest tradition and experience in viticulture-winemaking, that is why China is interested in sharing our experience; it is very important that the Georgian wine export in China market is growing up"– mentioned Iuri Nozadze.

According to the representatives of the Ninxia province delegation, Georgia is one of the most important partner country in viticulture-winemaking field.

The members of the delegation visited the experimental base of SRCA placed in Jigaura, viewed the collection vineyards of Georgian grape varieties and tasted Georgian wines. They were at the enoteca, cellar and wine museum of the national wine agency as well.
