Farmers are trained a 2-week training course on vegetable care-cultivation

Within the framework of the project - Technical Cooperation between the Governments of People’s Republic of China and Georgia, the training of farmers on vegetable care-cultivation continues. The representatives of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture and Chinese company ,,Hunan’’ have informed up to 35 farmers in Rustavi and Marneuli regarding specifics of the construction of solar greenhouses, the introduction of the new technologies on vegetable care-cultivation in the closed ground.

Within the framework of the project, 400 farmers in Georgia and 50 farmers in the People’s Republic of China have already passed 2-week trainings. In Georgia, the tenth trainings are planned in September. In case of the desire to participate, the farmers will have to register online on the Facebook page of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture.

Within the framework of the project, Hunan Agriculture Group has built 6 large and 27 small greenhouses on the area belonging to the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture up to 5 hectares. Greenhouses are equipped with new technologies and are designed for scientific purposes. The project aims at developing greenhouse farms in Georgia and potential production increases.

The Technical Cooperation project between the Governments of People’s Republic of China and Georgia was signed on 15 January 2014. 20 million yuan (3 million US dollars) was determined for the project.
