The new variety of oat - ,,Argo’’ has been registered

LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture has been registered the new variety of oat - ,Argo’’ at the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia ‘’Sakpatenti’’. This variety has been derived by the employees of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture.

,,Argo’’ is a type of cultural oats (Avena sativa L.), which is characterized by a fast growing and abundant sprout. The vegetation period of spring crops consists 85-97 days from the sprouting to full maturity can be sown in autumn and in the spring as well. This variety is recommended as a fodder (crops) and in the food direction too.

The new variety passed the preliminary examination test in 2014-2016 at the demonstrative bases of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture.

The research division of cereal crops of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture is working to get the seed material of oat variety ,,Argo’’.
