Deputy Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare of the Islamic Republic of Iran has visited LEPL Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture

The Deputy Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seid Hamid Kalantari, along with Nodar Khatiashvili, the Deputy Director of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, visited the test-demonstration bases of the annual and perennial crops in Tsilkani and Jighaura. The Deputy Minister visited the laboratory soil fertility research, laboratory of virology and tissue Culture (in vitro) and laboratory of certified seeds and planting standards and certification.

The Deputy Director of the Scientific-Research Center provided the guests with information about the projects implemented and planned in the field of agriculture. The sides focused on cooperation in the direction of aquaculture. As Nodar Khatiashvili noted, Iran has great experience in fishing in the lakes and ponds, sharing which is important for the development of aquaculture in Georgia.

Seid Hamid Kalantari also viewed collections of vineyards and fruit trees on the bases of Jighaura, got acquainted with the history of Georgian wine and tasted rare grapes.
